Petroglyph Hill

Location: New Mexico

Petroglyph Hill is a large hill covered with black volcanic rock on which hundreds of petroglyphs are carved, and it offers views of the entire Galisteo Basin. The Galisteo Basin in in north-central New Mexico. It's about 15 miles south of Santa Fe. It is considered by many to be one of the most impressive archaeological areas in the Southwest if not the United States. (Please note: I asked for and received permission to visit this site, which I did under supervision. Do not visit any site on property you do not have permission to be on.)
